Equips students with skills in public health practices, health education, and community-based nursing care using demonstrations and simulated activities.
The Community Health Nursing Lab is structured around four major domains of public health nursing, each supported by dedicated equipment, models, and supervised simulation exercises that mirror real field conditions.
Students practice immunization techniques, nutritional counselling, and antenatal care in a controlled environment. Demonstrations on growth monitoring charts and family planning counselling equip nurses for rural and urban fieldwork.
Using flip charts, posters, and IEC materials, students learn to conduct health talks and group education sessions. Role-play activities simulate community outreach scenarios including school health programs and health camps.
A simulated home-visit station enables students to practice bag technique, home nursing care, and environmental assessment. Structured scenarios cover maternal care, geriatric visits, and communicable disease follow-up in community settings.
Students learn to record, interpret, and present epidemiological data using real-world datasets. Training includes family folder maintenance, vital statistics recording, and disease surveillance reporting under faculty supervision.
